Hiro Tanikawa

Hiro was born in Yokohama Japan in 1947. As a boy he aimed to be a cartoonist and although several boys’ magazines in Japan published his cartoons, Hiro decided to focus on fine art and commercial illustration. He graduated from Tokyo Design College, having studied both comics and animation graphics.

Hiro has created original art for items like Japanese children's books, jigsaw puzzles, stationery, and calendars.

 Hiro currently teaches art technique to students at the Nagaoka Institute of Design in Japan.
